A Patient Success Story

… She died three times
before learning that her amalgam (silver) fillings
were causing her health conditions.

I am a 39-year-old homemaker, wife and mother of three. Since childhood, I went to the same local dentist (not PDC). He placed several amalgam (silver) fillings in my mouth as a child/teen. (I had Medicaid, and that was what was covered.) I found out later that he had filled teeth that didn’t even have cavities!

When I began working and had decent insurance and money to pay out-of-pocket, I asked if he could change the amalgam to white (composite) fillings (and I’d pay the cost). I didn’t like the look of the silver filling, and for whatever reason, the amalgam just didn’t “feel right” to me.

He declined and said he would still only use the silver fillings regardless of payment, insurance or my preference. One of my teeth had an abscess, so he did have to replace that filling. He let an unattended dental assistant do it, with another silver filling.

I began getting diagnosed with several health issues over the years: migraines, sinusitis, fibromyalgia, arthritis, severe menstrual symptoms, breathing struggles and kidney problems.

In 2018, I had a major kidney issue — I DIED THREE TIMES at the hospital but, thankfully, was revived three times. My kidneys were failing. My urologist noticed the silver fillings in my mouth and asked if I’d ever been tested for mercury poisoning. I had not. He said he was going to continue to monitor my kidneys; however, he felt all the mercury in my mouth was responsible for my kidney issues.

The day I came home from the hospital, I began researching silver vs. composite fillings. It wasn’t long before I noticed several more of my health symptoms could be related.

I began looking for a dentist to remove my silver fillings. PREMIER DENTAL CARE invited me for a consultation quickly. I first talked to Marsha, the office administrator, who was very down-to-earth and nonjudgmental and discussed EVERY concern I had. She paid attention to EVERYTHING!

Then I met the most AMAZING GODSEND of a dentist, Dr. MARLA WILSON! I have NEVER met a more calm and pleasant dentist. I told her what I wanted but, more importantly, what I NEEDED. She listened, went over my chart and got digital images of my mouth, and we discussed my plan.

I didn’t feel ANYTHING during my two extractions (unlike with my previous dentist where I dreaded visits to his office)! I was awake, but my mouth was numb. The staff was so kind and concerned about me as a patient — not just a paycheck.

I asked Dr. Wilson for a prescription for ibuprofen because I could only imagine the pain I’d be in later. I just had two teeth pulled, so when the numbness wore off that pain would come back full force, right? Not the case, whatsoever!

I NEVER had to take anything for pain. I only used Dr. Wilson’s homeopathic pellets and oils for oral healing, which she provided me. (My original dentist sent me home with very addictive, strong prescriptions, which I avoided taking. After visits with him, pain relief WAS needed.)

The next day, my breathing felt normal! I could sleep laying down again! My sinus issues didn’t seem as severe as they had been either.

Soon, I had a cleaning done by Ms. Karin, the dental hygienist! Just like everyone else I’d encountered at PDC, she was AMAZING!

Thinking back on my original appointment, I was willing to have every tooth with the mercury completely pulled! Dr. Wilson was able to replace all the fillings with composite without removing those teeth. Not only did she save them, which I’m ecstatic about, but …

  • I have NOT had ANY fibromyalgia/arthritis pain (which used to be 24/7).
  • I have NOT had a migraine since (which were daily).
  • I have NOT had any more sinus issues.
  • I have A TON more energy than I’ve ever had. I can keep up with my busy teenagers now!
  • I feel like I’m gaining my life back!
  • My kidneys are starting to function better!

I wish I had known about PDC & Dr. Wilson many years ago!

I HIGHLY recommend anyone and everyone to them! Not only do they PROVIDE care, but everyone in her office does indeed CARE!
